2026 Australian Athletics Championships

ELIGIBILITY:
ALL athletes MUST:
· Be registered Athletics Victoria members
· Be born between 2004-2006 (U23) to be eligible for U23
· Athletes Nominate by Monday 12:00pm 23rd March 2026
QUALIFICATION:
ALL athletes MUST fulfil at least one of the following selection criteria:
· Medalist from the 2026 Victorian Track and Field Championships
· U20 Medalist from the 2025 Victorian All Schools Track and Field Championships*
· Achieve the Australian Championships Entry Standards or Australian Championships Para Entry Standards between 1st January, 2025 and the 22nd March, 2026#
CONFIRMATION:
All athletes who meet the Eligibility and Qualification criteria are automatically selected in the team. The final team list will be posted and announced on Athletics Victoria website once Australian Athletics has confirmed entry lists. Athletics Victoria will communicate via email, Entry Lists from Athletics Australia, once nominations have been closed and confirmed.
It is assumed, if an athlete has met all eligibility and qualification standards, an athlete’s entry will be confirmed and entered.
TEAM LEVY: OPTIONAL
There will be an OPTIONAL team levy of $135.00 for every athlete selected in the Victorian team. This is inclusive of time and services of AV staff to process and check event entries, competition team management, medical support (physio/massage), team coaches, and team social media costs.
N.B. Any athlete who chooses NOT to pay the Team Levy, waives the right to Team Management services, including scratching’s, timetable changes, withdrawals, protests, appeals and Team Physio/Massage access.
TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION:
This team does not have a compulsory travel and/or accommodation component.
Therefore, all athletes will be required to organise their own travel & accommodation arrangements. This includes the transport of personal competition equipment, such as, throwing implements, practice hurdles, sprint spikes, and poles.
UNIFORM:
Open athletes - Athletes are encouraged to wear their Member Association, or First Claim Club uniform. All uniform must comply with the Australian Athletics Advertising Regulations
