As HVC is a world permit meet, this allows us to prioritize athletes chasing selection for 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships, 2026 Commonwealth Games and 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships.Following feedback, this year will include more opportunities for sprint events across the HVC series.

The incorporation of an extra sprint event will be available at each meeting, meaning a 100m, 200m or 400m will be an option at every HVC. There is also an additional 60m opportunity at AV to support athletes wishing to compete at the Australian Athletics Short Course Championships.

To allow this change, we have tightened our limitations on entries:

  • ONLY U20 and Open Hurdle specifications will be scheduled at HVC:
  • Sprint – Female – 100mH (0.838m), Male – 110mH (1.067m & 0.991m).
  • Long – Female – 400mH (0.762m), Male – 400mH (0.914m).
  • ONLY 5 Heats will be scheduled for each Male and Female sprint events (60m, 100m, 200m, 400m). Where possible, AV may adjust schedule pending close of entries at each meet to increase opportunities.
  • Horizontal Jumps will be limited to 15 positions for each gender with only the top 8 receiving three additional attempts.
  • Entries will be ranked on Season’s Best (SB) as at 01/01/2025.
  • If unsuccessful in gaining entry, a refund (minus transaction fees) will be granted
  • Para Athletes: We will accept Para entries on a case-by-case scenario, again prioritizing Under 20 and Open athletes eligible for World Athletics/World Para Athletics competition.

All HVC meets will be granted National Permit Meet (NPM) status unless otherwise stated.

Please note: World Athletics are currently reviewing requirements for international permit meets – AV will update HVC athletes regarding any changes to requirements or permit status due to updates provided by World Athletics.

WORLD ATHLETICS COMPLIANT SHOES – World Athletic Permit Meets

All Open & U20 Athletes inclusive of Para athletes, attempting a State Record, National Record or International qualifier MUST wear compliant shoes to participation at an HVC meet.
