Coaches in a school environment may prefer specialising in one event group (e.g., sprints, throws, or jumps) to provide more focused, effective coaching. This approach allows them to become highly skilled in one area, benefiting students in that event group.
This course offers a comprehensive framework for developing coaching skills in a school environment. You will learn practical strategies for organising groups, communicating effectively and fostering a positive and productive training atmosphere. The course also focuses on designing impactful training sessions and building event-specific coaching expertise for track and field disciplines. This includes mastering technical models, training drills, and planning considerations to enhance athlete performance across various events. Additionally, you will explore functional movement training, plyometrics, and flexibility programs to support the physical development of your athletes.
The course is especially useful for former students returning as coaches, as they can bring valuable firsthand experience and expertise to their chosen event group.
Attendees gain their Level 1 Youth Coach accreditation.
