Please fill in the details below to register your interest and we will send out a confirmation of your appointment once the classifiers have confirmed with us.

** PLEASE NOTE: YOUR COMPLETION OF THIS FORM DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE CLASSIFICATION. **

WHAT IS CLASSIFICATION?

Classification is an assessment process, which allows us to group athletes whose disability causes similar limitations in a particular sport in order to allow for meaningful competition. Classification involves an assessment of impairments and how this affects running, throwing and jumping for athletics.

WHY SHOULD I LOOK TO GET CLASSIFIED?

Classification is not required for your child to participate in local little athletic, school sports or other athletic competitions, but having a classification can be useful in enabling a more level playing field. Classification gives officials information on what assistance may be useful for an athlete and modifications which are allowed in the competition e.g. adjusted weights for throws, guide runners for visual impairment.

Classification is required if you child should wish to compete at a national level or even go on to International competition in the future. Classification also enables participation in Multiclass competitions run at State Championships – allowing athletes with different impairments to compete against each other.
