This workshop focuses on the professional development challenges, opportunities and strategies of building your career as a coach. In this workshop you will be answering the following questions:
What do you want to achieve as a coach?
What is your long-term career goal?
What do you need to do to achieve your career goal?
Who can help you achieve your career goal?
At the end of this workshop you will have created a strategy to help you focus on your career development.
Workshop leader: Dr Andrew Dawson is an award-winning coach development expert with more than 30 years’ experience helping professionals achieve their career goals. Andrew teaches and researches coach development at Victoria University with more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and more than 30 international coach development conference and key-note presentations. Andrew has also recently won two national awards for coach education and development for his leadership of the development of the Swimming Australia coach eLearning programs. Aside from teaching and research, Andrew also consults with state, national and international sport organisations on coach development and leadership. Andrew is the coaching coordinator at Collingwood athletics club where he coaches a squad of athletes who compete in local, state, national and international competitions.
